Time makes a poem and a poem becomes the image of the time. The text acquires its historical essence in the time and space. The present selection is based on this principle which means it is neither an anthology nor an almanac and certainly not an attempt to rank them.

We decided to publish those poems which attracted attention in 2012 thanks to their originality of rendering the spirit of the time, as well as their poetic merit marked with the effective use of contemporary trends.

The collection is an attempt to demonstrate a large section of the Georgian poetry of the year 2012, its aesthetic and social ideals, the diversity of style and form.
