Mikheil Kvlividze’s contribution into the development of Georgian poetry is hard to overestimate, In conjunction with several other writers of his and slightly younger generation, he took the verse to higher standards. In the 20th century his poetry, which is rooted in the refined and nostalgic tradition, turned into the benchmark of poetics and artistic taste, having deep impact on the so-called Poetic Flow of the period.
